Sales Report — Sales Dashboard
Open from the POS menu: Sales Report (or Reports → Sales Report).
Today's performance at a glance
The Sales Dashboard shows a live snapshot of today's sales activity — total revenue, order counts, hourly trends, payment breakdown, and order status distribution.
Summary cards
Four metric cards appear at the top of the page.
| Card | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Total Sales | Sum of all revenue collected today (formatted as currency). |
| Total Orders | Count of every order placed today, regardless of status. |
| Avg. Order Value | Total sales divided by total orders — useful for spotting upsell opportunities. |
| Successful Orders | Count of orders that completed successfully, with a percentage badge (of total orders). |
Hourly Sales chart
A bar chart spanning all 24 hours of the current day.
| Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Bars | Each bar represents total sales for that hour. Height is relative to the peak hour. |
| Bar colour | Darker blue = closer to peak. Light grey = no sales that hour. |
| Hover tooltip | Shows the exact revenue amount and the hour (e.g. "£120.50 at 1 PM"). |
| Peak label | Displayed top-right of the chart — the highest hourly sales value of the day. |
| X-axis labels | 12a, 6a, 12p, 6p, 11p as orientation markers. |
If no orders have been placed yet today, the chart shows "No hourly data available".
Order Status panel
Sits alongside the Hourly Sales chart.

| Status row | One row per distinct order status seen today. |
| Coloured dot | Colour-coded by status (see table below). |
| Count | Number of orders in that status. |
| Percentage | Share of total orders (count ÷ total orders × 100). |
| Progress bar | Visual width proportional to the percentage. |
Status colours

If no status data is available, the panel shows "No status data available".
Payment Methods section
A full-width card at the bottom of the page with two panels side by side.
Donut chart (left panel)
| Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Ring segments | Each arc represents one payment method's share of total sales by amount. |
| Segment colour | Each method gets a distinct colour (indigo, emerald, cyan, purple, amber, red). |
| Centre figure | Shows Total Orders count. |
Payment method list (right panel)
Each row in the list shows:

| Colour dot | Matches the corresponding donut segment. |
| Method name | Name of the payment type (e.g. Cash, Card, Gift Card). |
| Transaction count | Number of transactions processed via this method. |
| Total amount | Revenue collected through this method (formatted as currency). |
| % of sales | This method's revenue as a percentage of total sales. |
If no payment data is available, the section shows "No payment data available".
Data loading
- Data is fetched automatically when the page loads — no manual Refresh button is needed.
- The dashboard always reflects the current day's data.
- If figures appear stale, navigate away and back to force a reload.
